There has been an ongoing list of what all she needs for her birthday since the time she attended Sannidhi and Siddharth's b'day party.
Even now, a few seconds earlier, one more car was added to the list which is already brimming.
She wants spider man costume, super man costume (when asked what the costume is, she doesn't even know who superman is), dora, chutki, and lastly Chota Bheem (he only wears a dhoti without even shirt...hahahaha).
Then comes barbie doll. I wonder when she will get out of this barbie fever, every year this is there in her wishlist.
Then comes remote-operated car, but I promised to buy a remote-operated helicopter.
Aaah !! the cake keeps changing from day in to day out and right now she wants chota bheem. Let me see what it turns out to be when it is her birthday actually.

An interesting conversation !!!
Nini: Build me a Barbie house and give me cooker and mixie and everything I need.
Me: Why do you need cooker and mixie and all ?
N: I need to cook na.
M: I'm there na.
N: Oh, but it will be my house na.
M: Oh, so you are going to go there all alone.
N: Yes, but do you want to come?
M: If you want you can take me.
N: Okay come, I'll cook for you too.
M: That's nice. YOu know I would have grown old then, and you have to take care of me.
N: No, you will be like this only.
M: No dear, I'll grow old.
N: I dont want you to grow old. Be like this only.
M: But it will happen.
N: Then I'll be like this, so that you also be like this.
Isn't that so innocent !!!

Week day holiday
Nini had holiday on account of Shivarathri on 2nd. She was kind of dull in the morning and moody. Evening while doing pooja, she burnt her thumb and forefinger by holding a camphor and lighting it from the diya. This after me saying only elders should do it without fail from the time we are doing pooja. Huh !!! You never know what kids might try to do at what time. Some of her "doings-after-I-say-no" are
a. Testing how hot the water is when I'm filling the bucket for her.
b. Handling all the 3 remotes of TV, set off box, and the home theater.
c. Ah !! the worst of all, while coming back from school, she wants to put the indicator on and off and since she knows the route, she does it even before I do, by exerting as much pressure as possible, and I've to fight hard to maintain the balance.
So, evening she sat mum after I applied paste on her fingers and I felt so sorry seing her state.

Dedicated to chithi :-))
The way kids express their missing someone is amazing. Yesterday nini was referring that geethsi calls her "kuttachi."
While coming back from school today, we saw a kid riding with her mom with her back on her mom's back, and I was saying how dangerous such rides are.
Nini: One day when I went to bank with geethsi, while coming back home I too sat like that.
Me: Ah, that's bad, I'm going to hit geethsi for that.
Nini: Oye, I'll hit you if you hit chithi when we go to singapore. Periyavangala ellam adikka koodadu."
So much that she isn't around..hahaha.
Even before summer is in, she wants to go to park every day. So I made a dealing with her in the afternoon before her nap, you should be up when I call you, then finish your milk, and then we will go. And there she goes, just up with one sound from me, finished her boost within 10 mins (the usual finishing time is anywhere between 20 to 30 mins) and we went to park and she played for half an hour.
Of late, she is just raring and ends up banging, falling, hurting herself followed by a bout of a loud cry....the newest antic of hers.
At park, she was nothing less, fell from the swing and hit her head, just missed a fall while climbing the rod-like steps for slide, but she was a sport. Took it cool and enjoyed playing in mud.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday !!!
Last Fridays of each month are supposed to be meetings with teacher, but it happened just twice for the whole year and they were always happy with nini and said "nothing to tell about her."
As that makes me a proud parent wanted to hear that again, and though no meeting was officially announced, just walked in to speak to her teacher. Her teacher, Uma, who is nini's fav said "Ah ! She is an allrounder, in studies, otherwise, and even being naughty." She also said "I've to stop her from answering so that others get a chance to answer." And the best of all my nini is a last bencher now.....huh...at this age, can u just believe ??!!!! Her teacher said, the first 2 benches are always empty and all of them want to go and sit in the last bench. Now, how do you like that ???
So, that was about Friday.
Saturday wasn't so good to Nini. She wasn't much active, but quiet, later in the evening she started running temperature and put to bed with a dose of crocin.
Sunday she woke up better and was quite naughty. She hates washing her hair, but the loves growing her hair, so hard to manage these contradictions. Buying different shampoos will work for some time, and this time around it is "White Snow" shampoo, yeah even after correcting it several times, it is still white snow. After that wanted to get dressed up by her chithi, and took her clips n bands and ran there and came back looking as cute as a princess. She is really growing fast, but only heightwise. One night pant that was full for her is up to her knee now, but then the waist still fits, a size zero I guess.

Nini's first ever picnic !!!
Nini had been to Bannerghatta park (zoo as she refers it to) yesterday from school. She was all excited to see elephants, I was worried that there wouldn't be any, but she got to see them.
She got a new friend from other class I believe.
She saw elephant, cheeta (mama, baby, and dad), monkeys (our watchman uncle threw stones at them and we all laughed), zebra (was trying to eat us all, but we escaped), white peacock (it opened its tail and danced, i was thinking how it is possible, and one more was standing doing nothing like a somberi), ducks, snake (they said snake, but i saw only caves), tortoise (small ones).
They had lunch there of some green color rice which she dint like, sweet, some kurkure like thing which was yummy, and curd rice.
All in all, she enjoyed the picnic. She said to me that all other mummies were there to say bye to her. I was eager to, but didn't wait because I was worried she might jump out of the bus and say I'll not come, so just escaped from the scene :-))
The whole time she was explaining what all she saw over and over again....
